The Relationship Between Ovulation and Fertility
When you are trying to conceive, it is important to understand the correlation between ovulation and fertility. There are many things that you can do in order to improve your chances of becoming pregnant, and knowing more about when you are most fertile is the best way to do just that. This means...

Herbal and Natural Fertility Treatments

Natural Infertility RemediesInfertility can be quite maddening for women. Especially women who are exceedingly healthy—these women look at themselves and think that is just isn’t fair. They exercise, eat right, and don’t smoke or drink; yet, they still have fertility problems.

Well, infertility can affect any woman. While lifestyle certainly plays a part and can cause infertility in some women, it isn’t the only cause. So, even women who are in shape and take care of themselves can still experience infertility.

Many health-conscious people do not like to take any medications. So, this can present an issue for these women; after all, if they do not like to take any medications, they will not want to take fertility drugs, either.

Luckily, there are some other options other than fertility drugs that these women can try. Of course, women should check with their doctors before trying anything; however, women can look over these options so that they can discuss them with their doctors.

These other options do not include any fertility drugs—but, they can help increase fertility. These are fertility herbal remedies. Each of these is a natural product that has been shown to help some women with their fertility problems. And, each can be purchased over-the-counter.

First of all, there is Evening Primrose Oil (EPO). This helps a woman’s body produce more fertile quality cervical fluid. This fluid is helpful in enabling conception to happen. It should only be taken from menstruation until ovulation because it can cause uterine contractions during pregnancy. So, women taking this herb need to carefully chart their ovulation to make sure they are taking it at the right time.

Vitex is another pill that women who are having fertility problems can take. This herb works to regulate the menstrual cycle by helping to keep a woman’s prolactin hormone levels in balance. Vitex can take quite awhile to build up in a woman’s system and really begin working—possibly 12 to 18 months for some women.

One more herb that women can try is Flaxseed Oil. This helps to stabilize a woman’s estrogen-progesterone hormone ratio which, in turn, helps to regulate the woman’s menstrual cycle. Flaxseed Oil has also been shown to improve uterine function. This can help a woman achieve pregnancy, just like some fertility drugs.

Chasteberry is another natural herb that can help with infertility. It stimulates the pituitary gland which is responsible for producing the hormones estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Taking Chasteberry can help to keep these hormones in balance.

Some women may also want to try Red Clover. This herbal remedy helps to nourish the uterus and relax the nervous system. This one is also rather pleasant to take, as it is not a pill—women take Red Clover as a tea.

Women do need to remember that herbal remedies can be dangerous if they are taken incorrectly. So, it is wise to seek a doctor’s advice before beginning any of these, even though they aren’t as strong as prescription fertility drugs.
