Three Ways to Increase Your Fertility RatesOver the years, more and more couples are reporting that they are having trouble conceiving creating lower fertility rates. These lower fertility rates are caused by a number of factors, but no matter what the reason there are some methods to help you increase your fertility and chance of conception. There are many different methods women can employ to help increase fertility, however some are better than others. Here are a few ways that you can increase your fertility without having to resort to fertility medication. In some cases medication may be necessary but it is important to try natural methods first.
Losing Weight
Being overweight and in poor health can create a number of different health risks, but many people don’t know that it can also cause you to be less fertile. When the body is overweight, it produces large amounts of hormones that can interfere with ovulation. One symptom of this is having an irregular menstrual cycle. This can lead to a lower instance of ovulation occurring which in turn decreases the chance of becoming pregnant. Losing weight can help you return your cycle to normal and increase your fertility rates.
Eating Healthy
When your body has the proper nutrients, it is more fertile. Eating a balanced diet that ensures the body gets the things it needs is one of the best ways to increase your fertility rates. Some things in particular that you should be aware of are the amounts of protein, Vitamin C, Iron, and zinc. Lowered amounts of these nutrients can cause your menstrual cycle to be longer and increase chances of having a miscarriage if fertilization does occur. Be sure to include foods that contain these things in your diet and be sure that you are getting a balanced mix of each nutrient to ensure fertility.
Avoid Smoking and Drinking
Cigarettes have many dangerous chemicals in them that affect various parts of the body. These chemicals have been shown to damage a woman’s eggs. These damaged eggs have trouble becoming fertilized and implanted in the uterus. Smoking also damages the ovaries themselves. Drinking is another habit to avoid. Alcohol has a direct effect on the amount of estrogen in the body and causes problems with infertility. Having the occasional drink is not likely to affect things, but regular and even moderate drinking can have an effect on your fertility rates. As a side note, caffeine can also have an effect. Try cutting it out of your diet when trying to become pregnant.
Fertility Medication
If you have tried these things and have still been unable to conceive after twelve months of trying it may be time to consult with a fertility specialist. They can help with things that may have been overlooked and provide you with fertility medication if it is deemed necessary. Before using fertility medication, it is important to explore all avenues possible. Unfortunately fertility medication is sometimes the only way to increase fertility rates.
